camhop_imgCAMHOP-NJ (Chinese American Mental Wellness Outreach Program in New Jersey) is a NAMI New Jersey initiative to serve immigrant families of Chinese origin who are afflicted by mental illnesses, including Chinese immigrants from mainland Prc, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other countries and regions, through pedagogy, support and advancement. Our gratuitous services include family support groups, referral services, advancement, customs workshops, and educational materials in Chinese. CAMHOP pronounces like "Gold Crane" in Chinese. Iv Major Goals of CAMHOP-NJ

• Increase awareness among Chinese immigrants in NJ that mental illness can be treated, and that anyone can be affected by mental illness – there are no barriers based on course, educational activity or background.

• Help Chinese American individuals and families affected by mental disease set upward local self-assistance groups where they acquire coping skills through sharing with people with similar experience.

• Provide referral service for Chinese speaking mental wellness providers to Chinese families and individuals who accept express English skills.

• Help mental health professionals in NJ to be enlightened of and sensitive to Chinese culture on mental health issues and sympathise the unique struggles that Chinese American individuals and families confront when seeking services.

Social distancing doesn't hateful social isolation. CAMHOP is devoted to serving families affected by mental illness, who need support more than e'er in trying times similar this. Aligned with NAMI NJ'due south statewide online support group guidelines, and thank you to the labor of love from our trained facilitators, CAMHOP has launched online back up group meetings for Chinese American families beyond the land since April 2020.

全美精神疾病聯盟新州分部將於2022年三月到五月舉辦每週一次、為期12週的華語「家庭對家庭課程 Family -to-Family Pedagogy Class」。「家對家課程」是全美心理疾病聯盟最受歡迎的課程,專為家屬而設;根據課後調查,此課程不但提供家屬在協助患者康復方面的技巧與信心,並且對家中正在康復的患者也有實際的幫助。在北美,已經有十五萬人參加過此課程。課程及教材完全免費,家屬學員將持續在互助會中學到或分享到更多的實際應用技巧。請聯絡 (732) 940-0991 ext. 109, [e-mail protected]。

CAMHOP-NJ Self-Help Groups

Back up group meetings in all locations listed below have been moved online until further notice.
受新型冠狀病毒影響,支持小組會議移至網上 。我們會根據新型冠狀病毒的發展態勢,及時回復後續相關活動安排。
患者和家屬互助小組旨在為飽受心理精神疾病困擾的患者及家屬提供一個安全自由的環境彼此交流經驗和感受,互助支持,更好地面對疾病。互助小組雖不能代替專業治療,但這種形式的聚會已被醫學界認為是最好的輔助治療方式,尤其是對心理疾病、酗酒、癌症等領域非常有效。

CAMHOP Self-help group meetings are for Chinese families and individuals in NJ coping with mental illnesses (Major Low, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Schizophrenia, etc.). The goal of the cocky-help back up groups is to provide Chinese immigrant families who struggle with mental health problems with a safe environment to have emotionally back up discussions, linkages with available resource, exchange of successful coping strategies, etc.

Although our monthly self-help support group meetings are non run by mental wellness professionals, nosotros sometimes have professional person guest speakers joining the meetings to host a question and reply session or conduct an educational presentation. If you would like to be notified of the meeting schedule and programs, please email [electronic mail protected] to sign upwardly to our electronic mail list.
